LinkHUB
Extension Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the LinkHUB extension. The extension replaces the browser's new tab page with LinkHUB and can optionally show a local Top Visits panel based on the browser's top sites and browsing history.
What the extension does
The extension has a single purpose: provide a LinkHUB-based new tab page. It loads https://linkhub.aschi.at/ inside the new tab page and offers local extension settings for the Top Visits panel and a stored LinkHUB user ID.
Data the extension accesses
- Browser top sites and browsing history: used only to build the optional Top Visits panel shown on the new tab page.
- Cookies for https://linkhub.aschi.at/: used only to read the
linkhub_useridcookie so the extension can keep the LinkHUB page tied to the correct user ID. - Extension local storage: used to save extension settings such as Top Visits position, Top Visits count, cached favicons, and the stored LinkHUB user ID.
How this data is used
- Browsing history and top sites are processed locally inside the extension to show Top Visits.
- The LinkHUB user ID is used to open the correct LinkHUB page in the new tab iframe.
- Favicons for Top Visits may be requested from the visited site origin or from Google's favicon service as a fallback so the extension can display an icon for a visited site.
What is not transmitted by the extension
- The extension does not send your browsing history or browser top sites to the LinkHUB server.
- The extension does not sell browsing data or transfer it to third parties for advertising purposes.
- The extension does not use browsing history for creditworthiness, lending, employment, housing, insurance, education admissions, or similar eligibility decisions.
Remote content
The extension loads the LinkHUB website from https://linkhub.aschi.at/ inside the new tab iframe. That website may store and process data required for the LinkHUB service itself. The extension also may request favicon files from visited site origins or from Google's favicon endpoint to render Top Visits icons.
Data retention and control
- Extension settings remain in the browser extension storage until you change them or remove the extension.
- You can clear the stored LinkHUB user ID from the extension settings.
- You can disable the Top Visits panel by setting it to
Off. - You can remove the extension at any time through your browser's extension management page.
